MYP 2: Communication and well-being

As we wrap up the third term, we’re proud to highlight the meaningful work our MYP 2 students have accomplished. This term’s focus has been on language and well-being through the units Languages and Healthy Habits, two topics that allowed students to grow both academically and personally.
In the unit Languages, students explored how language connects cultures and communities around the world. They reflected on the diversity of languages spoken today and how language shapes our identity and interactions.
The most remarkable project this term came from the unit Healthy Habits, where students took on the challenge of developing their speaking skills while promoting wellness in our school community.
Working in small groups, students selected one of the following topics to investigate: morning routines, physical activities and sports, mindfulness, healthy eating habits, emotions and mental well-being, sleep and hygiene habits.
They prepared engaging presentations, and shared practical proposals for encouraging healthy habits among their peers. From promoting mindfulness in class to suggesting ways to improve our sleep hygiene, their ideas were insightful and inspiring.
Here’s to a healthy, happy, and productive end of the year!
MYP 3: Leadership skills and everyday English

MYP 3 students have continued to develop their communication skills through two dynamic and relevant units: Leaders and Say What?. It’s been a term full of discovery, creativity, and personal growth!
In the Leaders unit, students explored what makes a good leader and reflected on leadership qualities in themselves and others. Through engaging activities, they practiced essential communication tools like persuasion, collaboration, and active listening.
In the unit, Say What? students looked at how informal language is used in real-life contexts, especially among young people today. They learned about everyday English expressions, slang, idioms, and the importance of using the appropriate register when communicating with different audiences.
From role-playing casual conversations to analyzing the language of social media and texting, students had fun while gaining valuable insight into how language shifts depending on context. They also discussed when informal language is appropriate and when more formal expressions are needed, skills they can take with them into real-world interactions.
This term, MYP 3 students have grown as thoughtful communicators and emerging leaders. We’re proud of their progress and can’t wait to see how they apply these skills in the future!
