This term, our 1st ESO English students embarked on a fascinating journey into the world of Greek mythology. Through a research and presentation project, students explored the legends, characters, and symbols that have shaped storytelling for thousands of years.
Each student selected a Greek god or goddess to investigate, diving into their physical traits, personalities, abilities, and the myths that have made them iconic figures across history. From Zeus’s thunderbolts to Athena’s wisdom, from Artemis’s independence to Poseidon’s power over the seas, students discovered how these ancient characters continue to influence modern culture.
The project encouraged more than simple research—it invited students to think critically, organize information, and communicate clearly. As they prepared their presentations, they learned to identify what was most important for their classmates to understand and to express ideas in their own words. In addition, students created visual materials such as posters and slide presentations to support their oral explanations. This blend of creativity and academic skills helped them engage more deeply with the topic and communicate their learning with confidence.

One student reflected, “I liked discovering the stories behind the gods. It made me realize how mythology explains how people long ago understood the world.”
Another student told us, “Working on this project made me feel more confident when speaking in English.”

We are incredibly proud of the dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm our students demonstrated throughout this project. Their presentations showcased not only their understanding of mythology, but also their growth as communicators and learners.
Well done to all our students for their hard work and for sharing these legendary stories with such enthusiasm!
