1st ESO Arturo Soria students had the chance to participate in a hands-on workshop conducted by Ed Moriarty from MIT’s Edgerton Center.
Ed Moriarty is an experienced educator and engineer who specializes in experiential learning and outreach programs that make science and engineering accessible and engaging for students of all ages.

The activity invited students to work collaboratively to design and build a pyramid structure. Through experimentation, trial and error, and guided discussion, students explored fundamental engineering and physics concepts such as stability, balance, and structural design. The workshop encouraged creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork, making complex ideas accessible in a fun and engaging way. It provided a memorable learning experience for both students and teachers.

In addition, our students had the opportunity to talk with Ed and two MIT students in English, asking questions and engaging in meaningful conversation. This interaction added an authentic and motivating language-learning dimension to the experience.
